Last week at the annual meeting of the Canadian Historical Association in Calgary, I presented some of my research on the regulation of urban livestock husbandry in nineteenth-century Canadian cities. I also spoke about this a month earlier at the 2016 Calgary Institute for the Humanities community forum. Because of ongoing debates in Alberta about urban chickens, NewsTalk 770 invited me to speak about my historical research on ‘Calgary Today’ earlier this week. You can listen to that interview here:
